Cloud PBX

Cloud PBX for Pakistani business

One business number your whole team answers from an app, with nothing to install: no box on the wall, no wiring, no technician visit. A hosted cloud PBX built for Pakistan, from PKR 3,200 a month.

Updated July 2026

A cloud PBX in Pakistan is a business phone system where the exchange runs in our cloud rather than in a box bolted to your office wall. Your team answers one business number from a mobile or desktop app, whether they're in the shop, in the car or at home. Because it's hosted, there's no hardware to buy, nothing to wire and no technician to wait for. You can add a staff member in minutes, and every call gets greeted, routed, logged and recorded without anyone lifting a finger.

Key takeaway

A cloud PBX gives you a proper company phone system (IVR greeting, unlimited extensions, recording and reports) without owning any equipment. You pay a monthly fee in PKR and your team answers everything from an app.

What a cloud PBX is (no box, no wiring, no technician)

The old-style office phone system, what most people in Pakistan still call a PABX, EPABX or telephone exchange, is a physical unit in your office, cabled to desk phones and installed and serviced by an engineer. A hosted cloud PBX does away with all of that. The exchange runs online, which means:

  • No box on the wall to buy, power or repair.
  • No wiring to pull through the office every time you add a seat.
  • No technician to book for installs, moves or changes. You can manage it yourself, or ask us and we'll do it for you.

All the clever parts (the greeting that answers callers, the extensions that ring the right person, the recordings and reports) live in software. Your team just signs into the app. If you'd like the plain-English background first, our guide on what a PBX is follows one real call from start to finish.

What you get with voipcom cloud PBX

Every plan is a complete business phone system, not a cut-down starter. From day one you get:

  • IVR greeting: a recorded welcome menu ("press 1 for sales, press 2 for support") in Urdu, English or both. There's more on the IVR system page.
  • Team extensions: short internal numbers like 101 and 102, so callers reach the right person without anyone buying extra SIMs.
  • Call recording: every call saved as audio you can play back for training, or to settle who said what.
  • Live reports: who called, when, who answered and how long it took, all on one dashboard.
  • Mobile and desktop app: your office in your pocket. Make and take business calls from anywhere with a steady 4G or broadband connection.
  • Your own city number: a Pakistan DID number owned by your business, not sitting in an employee's SIM. Islamabad 051 numbers are live today, and Karachi 021, Lahore 042 and mobile numbers are launching next.

Why cloud PBX beats an on-prem PABX

The sums are simple. An on-prem PABX is a big one-time purchase plus ongoing servicing, while a cloud PBX is a small monthly fee you can predict. Legacy hardware in the local market isn't cheap: a Panasonic NS-500 is listed around PKR 224,999 and a TES-824 around PKR 114,999, and Grandstream IP phones run roughly PKR 10,700 to 40,000 each (those are third-party market rates, not voipcom prices). And before any of it rings a single call, you've also paid for cabling and an engineer.

Who a cloud PBX works for

Any Pakistani business that answers customers by phone and is tired of losing calls to a drawer full of personal SIMs. We see a lot of retail and wholesale shops, clinics and salons taking bookings, property and travel offices, and fast-growing call-centre and BPO teams (an export sector growing roughly 24% a year). Online sellers pair the cloud PBX with automated Shopify COD confirmation calls to cut return-to-origin on cash-on-delivery orders. Whatever your trade, it's the backbone of a proper business phone system in Pakistan, and teams use it in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and across the country.

Numbers are allocated through licensed LL/LDI operators, and voipcom stays PTA/PSEB-aligned. We deal with the carriers so you don't have to. We aren't a carrier ourselves; we set up and run the cloud PBX on top of numbers that have been allocated properly.

Setup in one day

Going live is quick because there's nothing to install. On a typical setup we register your number, record your IVR greeting, create your team's extensions and show everyone the app, usually within one working day. Most of your time goes on deciding what the greeting should say, not on cabling or engineers. Book a free demo and we'll show you a live call moving through the greeting, extensions and recording in about 15 minutes.

FAQ

Cloud PBX Pakistan: common questions

What is a cloud PBX and how does it work in Pakistan?

A cloud PBX is a business phone exchange that runs in our cloud instead of in a box on your office wall. Your team answers one business number from a mobile or desktop app. The IVR greeting, extensions, queues, recording and reports all live online, so nothing sits in your office.

How much does a cloud PBX cost in Pakistan?

voipcom cloud PBX starts at PKR 3,200 a month for the Starter plan: 1 extension, a 051 number, call recording, IVR setup and the mobile and desktop apps, billed in PKR with no hardware to buy. Extra extensions are priced per extension, with volume pricing for 5 or more, and Business plans are custom. The pricing page has the details.

Do I need to buy any hardware for a hosted PBX?

No. With a hosted PBX there is nothing to install, no cabling to run and no technician to book. The app runs on the smartphones and laptops your team already has. Desk phones are optional if you want them, never required.

Can I get a Karachi or Lahore number with a cloud PBX?

Not quite yet. Today we provide Islamabad 051 numbers, allocated through PTA-licensed operators. Karachi 021, Lahore 042 and mobile numbers are launching next, and Faisalabad 041 and Multan 061 are planned after that. See Pakistan DID city numbers for the current list. Whichever you take, the number belongs to your business, not to an employee's SIM.

Is a cloud PBX legal in Pakistan?

Yes. In Pakistan, public voice service and DID numbers come through licensed LL and LDI operators. voipcom works with those PTA-licensed operators and stays PTA and PSEB aligned. We are not a licensed carrier ourselves. We set up and manage the cloud PBX on top of numbers that have been allocated properly.

How long does it take to set up a cloud PBX?

Usually one working day. We set up your number, record your IVR greeting and create your extensions, then walk your team through the app. Most of that day goes on deciding what the greeting should say.
